Inspired by the classics of the NES era, a brand new JRPG titled RPG Jinshin has launched onto mobile. This 2D RPG adventure sees you embark upon a legendary adventure throughout a world heavily inspired by Japanese folklore as you seek to save your master from an ominous villain capable of pure evil.

Jinshin wears its inspirations on its sleeve, with clear bits and pieces borrowed from games like the original Final Fantasy games or even the Dragon Quest franchise, but given a modernised gameplay style and a brand-new world full of old Japanese lore to discover and learn about.

That inspiration is also quite clear in the combat within the semi-traditional turn-based style. However, it’s not all the same old song and dance of other traditional JRPG combat, as a big part of the battle system is within the formation mechanics. These allow you to organise your party in specific ways that will change how each member interacts with the enemies and offers up a variety of different buffs.

Those formation mechanics play a big part in the adventure, as alongside the hundreds of other unlockable skills and craftable recipes, you will also progressively unlock different methods of formation, which will then continue to change up how you go about your combat. Combine that with the variety of party members you’ll collect over time, and there’s a lot of variety for you to dig your teeth into.

There’s an immense amount of different skills affecting unlocks to find, and a lot of it will come from finding the huge amount of Kami, or Japanese Gods, you’ll come across during this adventure too.

Overall, there are a ton of different moving parts within Jinshin, but it looks like it ties together into a retro-inspired JRPG adventure that is likely to be one you enjoy quite a bit if you’re a fan of the genre. But don’t take my word for it! Give Jinshin a go for only $4.99 at either of the links below!
